Polypropylene (PP) filter support mesh
A woven polypropylene monofilament mesh used as the support layer in air filters where metal is not wanted. PP absorbs no moisture and resists both acids and alkalis, so the support layer keeps its dimensions in humid air and does not corrode.
Metal-free filters
No metal in the pleat pack: the filter can be cut, shredded or incinerated at end of life without separating a metal layer.
Humid and chemical air
Zero moisture uptake and resistance to acids and alkalis keep openings stable where coated steel would need protection.
Light and soft
Low weight and a soft edge with no sharp wire ends that could cut the media or the operator.
Black or white
Black for a technical look in HVAC filters; white where the support should be inconspicuous.

Frequently asked questions
Why use polypropylene support mesh instead of metal?
PP mesh contains no metal, absorbs no moisture and resists acids and alkalis, so it suits humid or chemical air streams and filters that are shredded or incinerated after use.
What PP support mesh constructions are available?
22 mesh black with 250 µm thread and 905 µm opening, and 34 x 37 mesh white (also known as 16T-230) with 230 µm thread. Both come 127 or 260 cm wide.
Can PP mesh be slit to narrow rolls?
Yes. We slit to narrow rolls on request for your pleating line.
